B-17 Airpower Heritage Week and Hangar DanceMay '09
Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum has teamed up to present the B-17 2009 Aluminum Overcast "Keep it Flying" Tour, commemorating the end of World War II while honoring those who sacrificed so much during the war effort.

Be one of the few to see a fully operating historic aircraft still flying—arrive at Centennial Airport and listen to B-17 veterans share their stories.

This 5th annual heritage event is hailed as one of the best tour stops in the country, offering the general public an opportunity to take flight "missions" up to 30 minutes long on this spectacular aircraft.

Guests can also take part in special guided ground tours of this magnificently restored Flying Fortress. Daily events include B-17 flight simulators, Veteran's Corner, Airpower Theater, free Young Eagle flights, pedal planes, aeromodeling, static vintage WWII military vehicles and reenactors, and much more!

Join us June 3 through 9 at Signature Flight Support at Centennial Airport to take part in this historic event. See the schedule of the entire schedule of the Aluminum Overcast "Keep it Flying" Tour on Page 14B.

The Hangar Dance

Last year more than 300 people came out to the annual Airpower Heritage Hangar Dance to glide under the wings of the mighty B-17 Aluminum Overcast and support Wings Over the Rockies.

This year's featured guest speaker is Air Force Maj. Nicole Malachowski, current White House Fellow. Maj. Malachowski holds the distinction as the first ever, high performance jet demonstration pilot in the U.S. military as a member of the Air Force Thunderbirds.

Maj. Malachowski is a brilliant speaker, most recently serving on the Presidential transition support team. The major has a distinguished career as a military pilot with more than 2,100 hours, including 185 combat hours over Kosovo and Iraq.

During the Hangar Dance, guests will dine on USO–style food while dancing under the wing of a B-17, and they'll have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour the perfectly restored aircraft.

Enjoy the "big band" spins from our house DJ, and be sure to come in your best vintage WWII attire to dine, dance and pay tribute to the B-17 bomber and the meet WWII veterans and aviation personalities.

We will be honoring veterans from WWII, Southeast Asia, Korea and the Gulf.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling 303-360-5360, ext. 105.
