6th Annual Living Legends of Aviation®
Awards 2009 Living Legends of Aviation Awards Program 6th Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards Story
Morgan Freeman challenged everyone to help inspire the next generation to fly. Harrison Ford and others quickly answered the challenge. Sir Richard Branson invited us to take a trip into space. Produced by the Kiddie Hawk Air Academy, the annual "Living Legends of Aviation Awards" is the most prestigious and exclusive event of aviation. The Kiddie Hawk would like to give a special thank you to Harrison Ford, Morgan Freeman, Sean Tucker, Bill Anders and Clay Lacy for their generous donations and express gratitude to all others who pledged their support to get the new Kiddie Hawk jet program flying. Production is well underway to get the new Kiddie Hawk Jet Trainer completed. The exciting new jet envelope will have advanced mechanics. Production of #001 is on schedule for first flight April 2009. We will forward photos of first flights with test pilots as they take to the skies. See the Kiddie Hawk video. The Legends and Kiddie Hawk are grateful for your participation and support. Without you, we would not be able to inspire the Legends of tomorrow. Donate, volunteer, or reserve your seat for 2010. The Kiddie Hawk would like to thank those of you who attended the 6th Annual "Living Legends of Aviation Awards". We have included some photos of this year's historical evening along with news coverage and videos of this year's honorees. Collecting photos after such a big event is exciting. See or share photos that you took at this year's event here. Please provide cutlines for the photos and tag the people in the photos.
Living Legends of Aviation Introduction Video "The Challenge, I love the mystery, I love the people, I love the machines, the responsibility, I love the freedom." Harrison Ford "I can still do my point roles just as well as I did when I was 20 years of age, and that is sort of a nice warm feeling to think that you can still do it with that many years under your belt." Bob Hoover "There are old pilots and there are bold pilot but there are no old bold pilots, except in the case of some of the Living Legends of Aviation, where they managed to pull both off and the reason is that they studied it day and night, they strapped it on like there is no tomorrow." James Raisbeck "There is this enormous feeling of uplifting and freedom that you get from flying an airplane." Linden Blue "So we came around on the first landing, everything was feeling so good. Heck with this, and I just landed it, and it was perfect!" Emily Howell-Warner "In aerobatic competition of course, I have to talk to myself to remember what comes next." Tony Bill "One of the reasons I liked being chairman of General Dynamics is that I could appoint myself assistant test pilot for the F-16. Which I did and I chose to focus on night attack. You wonder why night attack? Well, it is simple. If you are going to do a night attack test, you have to do a day flight. So I would get a twofer." Maj. Gen. Bill Anders "People have a love for flying. They enjoy being with other pilots that share that love for aviation." Barron Hilton "I still love to fly. If I for some reason couldn't fly for a month, I would miss it. I just like to do it and it could be any kind of airplane." Clay Lacy
